 We discover the new CyClone from TDK Well, it seems that they are coming thick and fast now, and now we are spoilt for choice. Which one do I choose ?
TDK Europe sent us their CyClone CDRW121032 with Burn Proof licensed from Sanyo for review.
Now with this technological enhancement, the CyClone CDRW121032 can write a CD without the user ever having to worry about a buffer underrun and a wasted CD. This process takes around 6 - 7 minutes for a 650 meg disc. The CyClone also supports HighSpeed CD-RW media that's rated at 4x - 10x allowing the user to take advantage at being able to save data in 10 minutes or less, plus having the advantage of re-using the CD-RW media again at a later date, this is ideal for backups of important files etc.

Ricoh's MP7120A is another new drive that supports the new Orange Book Part III Volume 2 V1.0 spec's with HighSpeed CD-RW media. If your looking to buy a new CD-RW drive that supports HighSpeed CD-RW's in the near future, the MP7120A should be placed on your list as a possible alternative to what else is about.

Well, as for the PlexWriter 12/10/32A, it rocks, it's fast on all sides from first looks. We did some small tests to see what this drive can do using WinOnCD 3.7. CD to CD copy of a 643MB disc to CD-R took 6 minutes and 3 seconds at 12x, and to CD-RW HighSpeed media at 10x took 7 minutes and 16 seconds. Well, this is a great improvement in speed, specially on the CD-RW side of things.
The PlexWriter 12/10/32A comes with firmware 1.00, a two meg buffer, and as said earlier also with Burn-Proof.
